Volvo XC60 – The Pre-Retirement One
Not many people know that the numbers in the Volvo XC range are intended to denote the minimum age you should resemble before driving one.
Have a look – drivers of the XC90 will often carry the demeanor of a 90 year old, if not the physical appearance.
That’s why many Volvo fans are getting excited (as excited as Volvo fans get) about the new XC60 – a Volvo one can dream of owning BEFORE retirement!
In fairness, though, most ‘Volvo people’ will probably tell you that they choose the car for it’s intelligent engineering and luxurious driver experience rather than it’s looks – and it’s a point that anyone would find hard to argue with (unless you’re one of those young people who can’t comprehend there being any consideration more worthy than looks and performance).
The XC60 is no snail though; the D5 turbodiesel engine delivers up to 185bhp, with the turbo-charged T6 putting out an impressive 285bhp. With that sort of power, a fair collection of facial age lines poses no problem – just drive with the windows open and watch those wrinkles disappear!
The XC60 is expected to be added to the Volvo leasing line up later this year.
