Without millions from India it may be Ta-Ta to Jaguar

Tata Motors, the owners of Jaguar Land Rover needs to inject tens of millions into the UK carmaker according to the Financial Times.
Jaguar Land Rover has been hit hard by a dramatic slump in sales that has affected carmakers across the world. For the British government Lord Mandelson has indicated a reluctance to bail out car companies but has not totally ruled it out. The Confederation of British Industry has said urgent government loans are needed to preserve 800,000 UK jobs in the car making industry. The Unite union says tens of thousands of skilled jobs are “hanging by a thread”.
It’s hard to believe that Jaguar would be left to go to the wall given its history and prestige in the UK. If it did there would be a sizeable hole in the luxury car leasing list.

    Big Cat mesmerises Scottish ‘motorati’

    jagxf.jpg
The Jaguar XF has won ‘Best Luxury Car’ and ‘Best Diesel’ at the 2008 Scottish Car of the Year Awards, voted for by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW).
Bill Caven, President of the ASMW, said: “The new Jaguar XF is an extremely impressive beast in more ways than one. It not only looks strikingly different from anything currently on the market but has all the classic Jaguar qualities of luxury, refinement and power. The entire judging panel was left mesmerised by this magnificent machine and it is a worthy winner in both the luxury and diesel categories.”
Priced from £33,900 for the 2.7-litre diesel, the XF comes with a generous specification featuring a host of innovative, industry-leading equipment and is likely to be popular in the executive car leasing market.

7,900 Jaguar XF Models Recalled Over Safety Fears

      jaguar-c-xf.jpg
According to reports, Jaguar have had to issue a recall on nearly 8,000 Jaguar XF models in the US. A problem with the rear safety belts could lead to a failure to adequately restrain passengers in the event of an accident.
It’s a bit of an embarressment for Jaguar, but it’s unlikely to affect the popularity that this car has seen since it was launched into the car leasing market. If you think your Jaguar XF may be affected, contact your local dealer immediately.
