BMW X6 Identity Crisis

Just because BMW‘s fat kiddy-carrier models are popular among footballers with excess cash and minimal manhood, doesn’t mean that everyone who wants one is utterly retarded.
Why, then, do they insist on denying that it is what it is; another needless 4×4 status chamber for people with about as much intention of off-roading as they have taste?
You can’t blame BMW for moving with demand – if these people were queuing up to buy my pubes I’d gladly oblige. But BMW repeatedly feel the need to create their own category of vehicle, almost as if they are aware of the shame involved in adding another ‘SUV’ to the market.
When the X5 appeared, they felt the need to label it a ‘Sports Activity Vehicle’ (or ‘SAV’). Now the new X6 is here, and guess what – it’s not an SUV or an SAV. It’s an ‘SAC’ (that’s ‘Sports Activity Coupe’, of course).
Is this intended to be the BMW leasing option that folk on the Old Trafford payroll can drive around in, whilst still being able to curse people in ‘bad’ 4x4s for polluting the planet?
Come on BMW, tell it like it is!
