Paris Hilton (star of US reality show ‘Simple Life’) has bought herself a $200,000 customised pink Bentley Continental GT for Christmas.
After buying the luxury car, she took it to a remodelling firm in Los Angeles, which is famous for customising cars in MTV makeover show Pimp My Ride got her car sprayed with a specific shade of cherry blossom pink, which was complimented by pink sheet metal, grille, hubcaps and most of the interior.
“I brought this pink clock from the Disney store and got him to make this exact colour and we just designed it all together. I love it, it’s so pretty. I’ve just always wanted a pink car,” Hilton said.
“I think when you’re a little girl and you have the Barbie corvette you’re like, ‘I wish I had a car like this one.’” she added.
Meanwhile a burglar stole $1.3m of jewellery from Hilton’s L.A. mansion. I am put in mind of a scene long ago from TV’s Thunderbirds. Loyal cockney chauffeur Parker allows himself a quiet smile as he swings the vast pink limousine across the gravelled drive and away from Lady Penelope’s mansion…
Anyone want to lease a pink Continental?

Bacon butties and Bentleys and a Grand day out

Here’s how it works; you turn up in leafy Oxfordshire, slap your £995 on the table and you get a bacon butty breakfast. But there’s more.
Butties scoffed and greasy hands made spotless (and I do mean spotless), you get the keys to your Bentley – or your Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Audi or Porsche. No you don’t have to choose, you get to drive them all…for an hour each.
The day is run and hosted by dreamcarhire.com and is a more relaxed variation on the expensive supercar clubs. The cars carry pre-programmed satnavs which take you over a 200 mile route that meanders through picturesque Cotswold scenery. You need to arrive at each changeover point on time so you get around one hour in each car.
You used to be able to buy a house for the price of one of these exotic autos (now of course you can buy two) so getting to drive six for under a grand may seem reasonable. But it’s a high price for what is the shortest car leasing period ever. Still fancy it though.
