Most powerful production Aston

Aston Martin will present the most potent production sports car in the marque’s 95-year history at the Geneva motor show on 3rd March 2009. Based on the successful V8 Vantage, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage will feature a 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS), and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque with a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h) and 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 4.2 seconds. Car leasing is one way to get your hands on this kind of motor and avoids major upfront capital investment.

Like one for the day?

Quantum of Solace is the ninth film in which Bond drives an Aston Martin, including the legendary DB5 featured in Goldfinger, the V12 Vanquish in Die Another Day and the DBS in Casino Royale.
You can taste the James Bond experience by winning a day on one of Aston Martin’s performance-driving courses. The competition is being run and promoted by VisitBritain and The Times. The one-to-one course, with highly-experienced instructors, is aimed at helping you understand the capability of the car in a safe environment, making you a better driver – and, perhaps, letting you have a bit of fun and excitement too!
The day will provide the theory and hands-on practice which will test your skills in different environments at the Millbrook Proving Ground, including high speed driving and braking on the straights.
To whet your appetite here’s how the manufacturers describe their baby.
‘The Aston Martin DBS is a 6.0-litre V12 powered, race-bred, two-seater shaped by the aerodynamic demands of high performance, with an exquisite interior that marries beautifully hand-finished materials with the very latest in performance technology. A combination of elegant design, innovative manufacturing processes, race-derived materials and components and Aston Martin’s unrivalled hand-build expertise makes the DBS a luxury sports car without equal.’
A word of warning, if you win you’ll want to keep the car. If you didn’t star in Quantum of Solace you can’t afford it. Your only hope is car leasing. By the way, the competition closes on 4th December.

Lease Aston Martin Convertible in the UK?

There’s something strange happening in the UK. I saw an old mate recently who’s been doing pretty well and has now upgraded his company motor to a lease Aston Martin …convertible!
For starters, why does such an iconic, historically British car like the Aston Martin even sell a convertible in the typically soggy UK and, more importantly, why would you buy one? Everyone knows it weakens the chassis and effects handling and performance – and for what? The two days of the year when you can drive around looking a bit sad and cheesey!
Personally, if I was considering car leasing, I’d choose one with a roof – whether I was leasing an Aston Martin or a Mondeo! Get a grip Britain!
