World’s first stop/start SUV

Land Rover is to launch the world’s first SUV with intelligent Stop Start Technology. Pictured above the Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4_e is being put to the test in a specially designed off-road course through the centre of London’s Battersea Power station.
On sale in the UK in May 2009 the Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4_e provides an 8% reduction in CO2 emissions and potential fuel savings of up to 20% in heavy urban traffic. Look for it in next year’s car leasing opions

Of course its main appeal is its practicality

If you’re earning £120,000 a week for kicking a ball or for crippling the banks by short-selling shares in the City then here’s the car for you. A mere £96,295 buys you the catchily named Audi Q7 V12 TDI – the madcap SUV to beat all SUVs. Or put it another way – a 6 litre 500bhp supertanker that gets from 0 – 60 in 5.5 seconds. Top of your car leasing list eh?
Only one thing to say. WHY?

All that money – and only one trim?

The 2008 Azure is a 2-door, 5-passenger luxury convertible, available in one trim only, the Convertible.
Described as the world’s most elegant convertible and destined to become a future classic the 500bhp Azure T delivers an 11 per cent increase in power and a 14 per cent increase in torque over its 450bhp/875 Nm Azure stable mate. Performance gained is significantly with a top speed of 179 mph and a 0-60 mph time of just 5.2 seconds.
The Azure’s already striking form is now enhanced by 20-inch 5-spoke wheels and tyres, ‘Le Mans’ front wing vents, dark tint matrix grille and a sculpted, retractable Flying ‘B’ mascot.

Second generation Boxster launched

This week Porsche is launching the second generation of its mid-engined Boxster roadster at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
Highlight of the new generation is the new flat-six ‘boxer’ engines, developed with new technical features from the ground up. They provide not only more power but also significantly greater fuel efficiency.
A new six speed manual transmission fitted as standard and the Boxster accelerates from 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds. The Boxster S, when fitted with PDK transmission and Launch Control accelerates from 0-62mph in 5.0 seconds.
The new Boxster goes on sale in the UK from February 21st 2009 and is priced from £34,420. The Boxster S is priced from £41,250. Buyers will be able to explore the dynamic attributes of the car and develop their own skills behind the wheel courtesy of a Driving Experience Programme at the new Porsche Driving Experience Centre at Silverstone.
