Man Torches His Own BMW in Protest

A German man has deliberately set fire to his BMW in the centre of Frankfurt.
The act was a protest by the 30 year old against the rising price of fuel.
In a statement, police said, “The Bavarian…said he carried out the act because he was unemployed and could no longer afford a car due to the high cost of fuel,”
Well, at least he won’t have to worry about the cost of fuel any more! He might develop a sudden interest in the cost of BMW leasing in the near future, though…

BMW Copies Must Be Destroyed

A German court has rule, rather unsurprisingly, that the importers of the “Shuanghuan CEO” SUV – a very similar looking car to the BMW X5 – must cease sales and destroy all examples of the vehicle in Germany.
What did they think was going to happen? I mean, look at it!
Looks like if you’re after a lease BMW X5, your only option is the BMW one!

Fully Electric Smart Car for 2010

As we all know, the “Smart Car” didn’t get it’s name from it’s looks. There’s nothing smart about driving around in a stumpy shoe.
However, as anyone who has dabbled in Smart leasing will know, there is plenty that’s smart about the economic and nimble city maneuvering of this little roller skate.
Now it looks like the Smart car is set to get even smarter, as Daimler has announced plans to produce a fully electric model by 2010, along with a fully electric Mercedes-Benz.
It’s all quite exciting, in the wake of rocketing fuel prices, just don’t start panic-buying electricity please!
